Weekend Wishlist

Necklace, New Look  // Dress, Miss Selfridge  // Triangle Earrings,  Dorothy Perkins // Ruffle Sleeve Playsuit, Miss Selfridge // Lilac Jacquard Skater Skirt, Miss Selfridge // Lace Hi Tops, Dorothy Perkins // Ring Set, New Look // Embroidered Fringed Clutch, Miss Selfridge // Aztec Bracelet, Dorothy Perkins

I feel a little bit silly/greedy/rude popping up a wishlist, what with it just having been my birthday, but as I had prepared this one in advance I didn't want it to go to waste! I did get some lovely goodies, including clothes and makeup, which I'll be sure to post about soon, but for now, here's what's been catching my eye on the high-street over the last week or so.
Basically lots of pastels, lace and fringing, these are all pieces I can see fitting quite nicely into my Spring wardrobe, and can be mixed and matched with items I already own for both day and night time looks.
I'm feeling really tired this evening, as I've literally just got back from our trip away (more on that in tomorrow's post), so for that reason I can't really muster up more of an explanation for my selection than that. I'm planning on spending tonight having a bit of a pamper session and staying cosy in bed finishing my book (I'm currently reading N-W by Zadie Smith - anyone familiar with it?), but I've got a feeling I'm going to be dragged out to someone's birthday party after the hubby finishes work. Frankly, I'm not really up for it, as we were out and about last night, and I don't really know the person having the party, but we shall see.
Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend so far and I look forward to popping up a slightly more coherent post about my week tomorrow!

Weekend Wishlist

Just some goodies I've got my eye on this week. I'm not going to go on about how torturous I'm finding it to make these wishlists at the moment, as I'm fairly sure I unleashed that one on you all last weekend. Basically, I can't have any of this stuff, as Christmas is coming, 'Santa' is already overflowing with Christmas letters from me, and money doesn't grow on trees. They're all so pretty though, are they not?
I may have to make an exception for that giraffe onesie. It's clearly an essential that should feature in every girl worth her fashion salt's wardrobe. No, really though. I want it bad. It'd be my best friend for those nights in on the sofa, and the way I see it I'd actually be saving money, because I'd be staying home, snug and warm in this winner, as opposed to going out and spending my pennies. No?

What do you want but can't have this week?

Weekend Wishlist

Can you tell that I've suddenly started worrying about my skin this week? I've noticed the lines beneath my eyes have deepened and it's freaked me out a bit, so now it's all about the anti-aging skincare! I'm not convinced any product can really improve the appearance of fine lines, but I don't want to have the skin of an elephant any time soon so I must go for prevention at the very least! Some of you might think I'm going a little bit crazy, only being in my twenties. But believe you me, those first lines act as a wakeup call for anyone, so this Origins gift set is top of my Christmas list, along with the Liz Eatle Smoothing Line Serum.
On the upside, my skin has actually been fantastic recently, which I think I have a couple of new facemasks to thank for (reviews and details coming soon). So, as it's looking so clear and glowing, I thought I'd take full advantage while I can and swap heavy foundation for a nice, light tinted moisturiser (Nars Pure Radiant). Yes, I'm very well aware that it's winter, but I think that if you can get away with it, it's really better to wear as little makeup as possible on your skin when you have the chance. That said, my under-eye area is still in need of a bit of help, and I wouldn't dare leave the house without a bit of concealer to hide my dark circles, so I'm quite interested in trying the Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer. I'm not sure I'm really on board with the whole 'No Concealer' name thing, as clearly it is exactly that. But who am I to argue? As long as it does the job well then I'm in.
Clothes-wise, I think this knitted beanie, sequin ombre shorts, berry clutch and tan studded boots are all great staple pieces for winter. Most of my weekly wishlists seem to have featured one pair of studded boots or another of late, but this is the first good pair I've found that isn't black, so they are a definite must and will last well into the Spring, when they can be worn with the same shorts and bare legs.
I also really love the look of this pretty floral kimono and rose-print jeans, which will look great with basic pieces and layers.
Last but not least is this pretty green tea-scented candle. Those of you who know me well will be aware that I am an avid green tea drinker (along with my traditionall British cuppas, of course!) and I do find the scent quite relaxing. But mostly, I just really like pretty scented candles, and enjoy having an array of scents to choose from according to my mood. The fact that they look great around the house is an added bonus.

Well, that's it for this week's wishlist. Did you see anything you liked?
What's top of your Christmas list this year?

Weekend Wishlist

It's all about the khaki this winter, whether we are talking clothing, make-up or accessories, so a pair of warm skinnies to mix and match is going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. I also can't get enough of layering so this cosy sleeveless parka is an essential and would look great thrown on over all manner of knitwear (I've already got my eye on several hundred woolly jumpers!). When I want to dress things up a bit, the structured blazer will be perfect and can easily take a look from day tonight, as it's suitable for work as well as wine.
Add to these key pieces yet another pair of studded boots and just one more peplum and my winter wardrobe will be looking close to perfect, in my eyes. It's just a shame this is only a wishlist and not my actual shopping bag!
I am keen to pick up the UnBEElievable BEE Prepared Daily Defence Immune Support in order to ward of winter colds, as it's all natural and contains all sorts of goodies such as bee propolis, black elderberry, olive leaf and beta glucans. I usually pick up every bug going in the winter, so I need all the help I can get!
Skin could always do with that bit of extra pampering in the colder months, and with GlamGlow bringing out a special edition of their fantastic mud mask for Breast Cancer Awareness, it would be rude not to. Granted, I don't really need any more face masks, but it would be rude not to when it's all in the name of a good cause. I'm also hoping to grab the Clarins Vital Light Skin Illuminators Collection and provide my skin with that extra bit of glow for the festive season. My skin tends to be a bit dull in the winter so it can do with all the help it can get.
Lastly, I am beyond keen to get my hands on the new L'oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Excess Mascara (phew, long name). The normal version is my all-time favourite mascara and I use it on a daily basis, so I'm really excited to try this ramped-up version and see how it performs.

I'm so glad to be finally feeling up to blogging again after a rough week. I've been spending some time with the in-laws, who have been feeding me cake (they know me so well) and the hubby has been looking after me too, so I am feeling lots better and ready to face the world again! This weekend I am planning on chilling out, with a pamper session on the cards tonight. It's been a while since I could actually be bothered as I haven't been interested in anything for a couple of weeks, so it's long overdue and I'm going to enjoy tring out some of my newest products.

Weekend Wishlist

Good day lovelies, hope everyone has had a lovely relaxing weekend. In my case, it seems to have flown by, and I can't believe it's Sunday already. It probably doesn't help that I usually post my wishlists on Saturdays as I think that's been confusing me a little bit!
Today I was planning on doing some baking, but as it turns out, I didn't have a couple of the ingredients I needed for the Nutella cinnamon rolls I wanted to make (find the recipe on the lovely Francesca's blog - On the Bias -  here. So I decided to go ahead and make some cupcakes instead, only to find that the flour was full of weevils! Baking fail. However, I might still pop out and buy some more and do them this evening.
Other than that I've just been chilling with the hubby today, although yesterday involved going for a run, cleaning the house and doing some paperwork, so that wasn't quite as relaxing. I also attempted to DIY ombre my hair as I am feeling really bored with it at the moment, but unfortunately the dye I used didn't lighten my hair at all. To be honest, I was sort of expecting that to be the case, as my hair does already have dye on it. If I really want to go for it then that means going for the full-on bleach, so I think I'm going to give it a miss and keep my hair as it is - in (reasonably) good condition. I have suffered with dry ends for a while and have only recently started to get them into shape again, so I don't want to undo the good work I've done there.
I had been hoping for a bit of a pamper sesh tonight, but my goodies didn't arrive in the post, so all in all, the weekend hasn't gone hugely to plan! But that's ok, at least I've had time to just sit and chill.

What have you been up to this weekend?

Weekend Wishlist

Dior Radiance Skinflash Pen -  Studded Jumper -  This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle -  Peplum Tee   - Jumper -  Pyjamas -  Bralet -  MUA Cream Blush in Blossom  - MUA Pro Brow Kit  -  Anchor Earrings  -  Origins Make a Difference Night Skin Rejuvenating Gel Cream  -  MUA The Artiste Collection  -  Bonsi Stud Boot

This week's Wishlist is all about chunky winter knits and cosy loungewear - in fact, much like last week's. Now that the nights are drawing in, I'm all about snuggling up on the sofa for comfy evenings in, with films, pampering and cake all on the cards (although not too much of the latter!).
I know you're probably getting bored ofstuds featuring on my Wishlists by now, but in my defence it's not as if I've bought everything I've wanted, and it just so happens that most of the nicest pieces in the shops at the momemt seem to feature them in some way or another!
There are lots of makeup goodies on my shopping list too. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I knew I was going to be wanting the majority of the MUA collection, and with their extremely reasonable prices it'd be rude not to really!
I think everyone's skin deserves a treat now that the weather is getting chillier, and we could all do with an extra hit of moisture, so the Origins Make a Difference Night Skin Rejuvenating Gel Cream is just what the doctor ordered. Add to that a good brightening concealer to banish dark under-eye circles (which are pretty much a given with the equally dark winter mornings) and I think my face will be thanking me.

What's on your Wishlist this week?

Hope you're all having alovely weekend.

Weekend Wishlist

Behold, my Weekend Wishlist has landed.
This week, it's all about comfy embellished knots and cosy jeans for the coming winter months. Actually, I haven't been a 'jeans person' for a while now, ditching them in favour of tights and dresses for many a cold day, but A/W 2012 brings with it such fabulous options, such as this gorgeous ombre pair, that who am I to resist - let's be honest, jeans will always be the most comfortable and chilly day-friendly option.
There are lots of beauty bits on my wishlist this week, including the new MUA Pro Brow Kit and the popular Undressed Palette. Actually, I want pretty much everything in the new MUA collection, which is due out on September 26th and features a multitude of treats. Favourites of mine are the amazing Nail Constellations, cream blushes and their version of the Laura Mercier shimmer brick.
I've also been coveting the Origins Clear Improvements mask of late. Many of you will know that my skin has been going a bit crazy recently (probably self-inflicted as I have really been going to town experimenting with various new products!) and this little gem claims that it uses charcoal to act as a magnet, drawing dirt and debris out of the pores and leaving the skin free to breathe again. My pores are actually quite good, besides the ones on my nose, but those ones do seem to be permanently clogged. When I do manage to get them clear, it doesn't last two seconds, so I'm intrigued to see if this beaut can live up to it's claims.
Speaking of Pores, I am also after the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum, which basically claims to do the same thing, only without the charcoal. It also guarantees to leave the pores 58% smaller within two weeks, which is a pretty bold claim, so again, I think this deserves to be put to the test!

What'son your wishlist this weekend?

Weekend Wishlist

5. Chain Insert Jumper  6. & 7. MUA Constellations in Pisces and Scorpio (available from 26th September)

11. Alesha Boots   12. Wine Dip Hem Skirt

I've given in this week, and finally my Wishlist has well and truly entered the A/W zone, rather than stradling it along with summer, as it has been doing for the past few weeks. I still wasn't ready to let summer go, what with all the gorgeous clothes still in the shops, and the wardrobe-full I had yet to unleash. But now it has become apparent that I am fighting a lost cause, so who am I to stand in the way of all the lovely wintery warmers and rich, festive shades hitting stores?
Wine seems to be a strong trend again this A/W, and one that I'm more than happy to embrace. As well as digging out my burgundy jeans from last winter, I'll also be updating my wardrobe with this gorgeous dip-hem skirt. After I had created my wishlist, I noticed that Miss Selfridge are also doing the Ostrich effect bag in wine, and I think I prefer it to the brown one, so that's going to be another must-have.
The thing I am most excited about on my wishlist this week is 100% the new MUA Nail Constellations, out on 26th September. These are basically pots of teeny tiny beads which will adhere to nail polish, so they can be used to create a plethora of different nail art designs or just worn covering the nails, which I think looks pretty darn good. There are five to choose from - Libra, Gemini, Scorpio, Leo and Pisces, and they will be available for the bargainous price of £3 from Superdrug. If, like me, you just can't wait until then, then check out MUA's Facebook page here to have a nose and see the other colours available. Personally, I am in love with all of them, and am so glad that MUA have stuck to their reasonable prices for these innovative little gems.

This weekend I think I'm going to be having another relaxed one. I had the day off yesterday, so the hubby and I spent the afternoon lounging around a coffee shop drinking hazelnut lattes and reading - me, Fifty Shades and him Mockingjay (the third book in the Hunger Games trilogy). Actually, I started reading the Hunger Games books before he did, and when I told him about them he somehow managed to claim them for himself, so I'm still waiting on him to finish Mockingjay so that I can get my teeth into it! I suppose you could say that's why I've ended up reading Fifty Shades, as despite my original protests, I needed something to fill a gap, and it was there. Ok, I might as well be honest - yes, I was intrigued by all the hype surrounding it, but I had genuinely had no intention of reading it. And yet here we are. I'm not finding it too bad so far, but I have to say, I find the character of Anastasia Steele unbelievably annoying. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it and may want to, but the way she keeps biting her lip (by chapter ten, she must have done this at least twenty times) is really starting to grind my gears. How repetitive can you be!? Anyway, I will reserve further judgement until I have finished the book, as I am only just about to get to the juicy bit, but as yet I can't see myself picking up the other two books in the trilogy.

Tonight it's Skyping, blogging and cups of tea for me.
Do you have any exciting plans?

Weekend Wishlist

Hello my lovelies, hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.
A bit of a mixed bunch on my Wishlist this week, my favourite items being the gorgeous faux leather peplum and boots from Zara and the Studded Bralet, which you can find in Topshop.
I also really want to get my hands on this snuggly owl jumper as I've been getting so cold in the evenings lately and have even thought about putting the fire on once or twice!
Cosmetics-wise, I am desperate to get my hands on the Caudalie Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid and Le Blanc Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base, admittedly after reading this post over on Ghost Parties. The lovely Kate posted a picture of herself with the most beautiful glowing skin, and as this is something I am constantly aspiring to, I am eager to try out the products she'd used to create the look.

Weekend Wishlist

1. Petite Lace Peplum Top, £28, Topshop
2. Shopper, £39.99, Zara
3. Petite Mink Peplum Top, £26, Miss Selfridge
4.  Applique Messenger Bag, £79.99, Zara
5. Striped Leigh Jeans, £40, Topshop
6. Studded Leopard Vectras, £28, Topshop
7. Nails in Pinch Punch by Louise Gray, £6.50, Topshop
8. Studded Ankle Boots, £89.99, Zara
(Click on the linked shop names and you will go directly to the page for each specific item)

I'm all about the accessories this week, and after a mini-spree in Zara yesterday, there are several beautiful items I couldn't help but add to my Wishlist. I find Zara to be a bit hit and miss in terms of clothes - sometimes they have some amazing iconic pieces in, and other times there is nothing much that catches my eye, but the sections that always reel me in without fail are the shoes and accessories. I can't say I am overly thrilled by their prices in these areas though - at £79.99 for the Applique Messenger bag, this is one item that'll be staying firmly on my wishlist. My favourite find of the week though, is undoubtedly the gorgeous studded ankle boots, and I am going to struggle not to treat myself to those.
I'm really excited about the Louise Gray/Topshop collaboration, and would happily go home with all the nail polishes in the range. She has also done some other lovely cosmetic bits and bobs and several statement items of clothing, so if you haven't checked those out yet then get on over to the Topshop site and have a little look before they sell out.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend so far!

Hi lovelies, hope you've all been having a great weekend so far and making the most of the sunshine. Apparently, it's going to last throughout the remainder of August, so hopefully that means finally getting some wear out of all the gorgeous Summer pieces we have been stockpiling since Easter!

I must admit, for once in my life, I felt a little bit uninspired by the 'New in' sections this week. I'm not sure whether it's because all my favourite clothing and accessories stores are a bit 'in limbo' at the moment, with a mixture of Summer's leftovers and new Autumn/Winter bits, but I think that must be it. Understandably, after the lack of sunny weather so far this year, I'm not really ready to start thinking about my Winter wardrobe yet. However, aside from clothes, there are certainly a few other random bits I'd be more than happy to get my mitts on, whatever the weather.

Origins Spot Remover Blemish Pads are not something I would have needed to consider purchasing until recently. Even as a teenager, I had perpetually good skin, and luckily for me, outbreaks have always been rare. However, more recently, my skin has been starting to play up a bit. I think this is probably down to my recent experimentation with skincare, and I now need to let my skin settle down into a routine, but while I am doing that I would very much like to try out these pads. Origins always come up trumps with their skincare, and I have heard good things about these, such as that they are gentle and do not strip the skin as many blemish-fighting products can do. They are, however, a bit on the pricey side at £24.

I've also got my eye on the Caudalie Divine Beauty Oil, which may sound odd given that I was just talking about my forehead being a bit oily, but I have again heard fantastic things about this and am keen to give it a try. It's a multi-use oil, so it can be used on the body and hair, as well as the face.

I'm still feeling a bit patriotic after the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympic Games, so I fell in love with the idea of the pop-up London book from Topshop. Granted, I am not a tourist, but I really like the idea of having a pop-up London landscape at my fingertips. Plus, I love books and like to collect quirky and unique ones from time to time.
I have been promising myself I'd find the time to bake for ages now, and I finally did  last night, when I made some scrummy banana bread. The hubby was more than impressed, and it has inspired me to get back into baking on a more regular basis (not TOO regular though, ashaving cake around all the time can only end in tears!). Next up, I'm planning to make some beautiful cupcakes in a selection of flavours. I'm thinking cookies and cream, caramelised apple and cinnamon, and peaches and cream, but if you've got any other suggestions then I would absolutelylove to hear about them in the comments box below! :) Anyway, the plan is to get a few of these pretty cake cases and a cake stand and to hold a little afternoon tea party, because let's face it, who doesn't love those?

The Nars American Dream Eyeshadow palette also caught my eye this month. Do I need to explain why? I don't think so, but let's just say that it's pretty, and it's Nars. As much as I love my beauty products and makeup, the one thing that I just can't seem to get the hang of is creating pretty looks with eyeshadow, and it really annoys me, so I'm hoping to be inspired to try again. Sadly, this is not yet available in the UK, but click on the link and you can buy it from the U.S. site.

I won't go on about the clothes, as I think they are pretty self explanatory. I just like them. Bralets, peplum tops, animal jewellery and Aztec print have all featured heavily across my Wishlists in recent weeks, and these are just the latest creations I have been admiring.

Are you ready to start stocking up on winter warmers, or are you still stubbornly holding out for more sunshine?

MUA Going for Gold Eyeshadow Palette,

I've been bit greedy this week. Once again, there is a plethora of treats in the 'New In' sections of almost every online store I frequent. The chilly weather has got me lusting after cosy knits, particularly printed and studded ones, and I am also loving the patriotic 'London' belt and the Union Jack clutch, as I am feeling quite proud to be British at the moment thanks to our wonderful Olympic Team. Go GB! It's also a great excuse to get my hands on the 'Going for Gold' palette by MUA - well, better late than never, eh? Anyway, the Olympics are still going, so the way I see it, it's still completely relevant.

I've been back to work this week and I can't tell you how shattered I am feeling now! After four weeks of rest, going back to being on my feet all day (in heels, of course!) has more or less done me in, and that's not to mention the mental fatigue my job seems to give me! If you don't already know, I teach English as a foreign language, which has it's moments, but you can imagine what it's like having to deal with pupils who are not interested in learning, or unruly groups of teenagers! Ha. I have actually been so tired that I have fallen asleep at 9.30pm every night this week, and believe me, that is NOT like me at all - I usually go to bed at around one or two in the morning! And it's not that I sleep all day either, I actually get up quite early too, but as my husband works until late, we usually stay up to spend some time together, as we work very different hours.
To be honest, I can't say that I've been up to much else this week, as I haven't really had the time! But I plan on a nice relaxing weekend consisting of snuggly jumpers, cups of tea, hazelnut lattes, homemade facemasks, deep conditioning hair treatments, nail art and magazines. I would say blogging and blog reading, but that very much depends on my unreliable internet!

Hope you're all having a splendid weekend!

Weekend Wishlist

So, I hope you can forgive me for not providing the direct links and the prices for this week's Wishlist. The reason for this is that my internet is playing up yet AGAIN, but I won't go into the boring details too much as you've heard it all before. All I will say is that I have extremely limited connectivity that keeps cutting out, making it very difficult to put together a  post for you at all. To make things easier, I have chosen all of this week's must haves from Topshop, so if you head over to the new in section then you should be able to find all of these lovely bits, bar the Ren face masks, which you can track down over at Ren's own site, here.

I'm finding that my Wishlists have become a bit of a mad mix over the past week or two, as while I am still busy lusting after pretty Summer pieces, the Autumn/Winter trends currently hitting the shops combined with the rubbish weather have got me also eyeing up some cosy jumpers and printed jeans to snuggle up in. I love these dusky pink heart-print jeans, and think they would look great now with white basics and sandals, continuing on into the Autumn and Winter with cosy knits and boots. Speaking of cosy knits, I'm a little bit in love with this lovely pony-print jumper. It does actually look quite thin though, again making it a versatile piece  suitable for year-round wear.
Topshop have got some gorgeous new nail polishes in at the moment, including this Crackle Topcoat in Black Dynamite, and the beautiful lilac/purple glitter polish in 'Firework'. But my favourite find of the week is, without a doubt, these gorgeous studded leopard-print shoe-boots. You can't actually see the stud detail very well in the picture, but if you look closely then you will see them decorating the toe area. I love a good statement boot, and live for them in the Winter when clothes tend to be from a darker colour palette, as they can be a fantastic way to brighten things up a bit and add interest to an otherwise basic outfit.
I am absolutely itching to try both of these Ren facemasks, as lately I have been really enjoying having a bit of pamper time, but as I mentioned in this month's Beauty SOS, I am yet to find the perfect product for my skin. Really, I am looking for both a clay mask to combat any oiliness and clear up blemishes (I don't get many, but my skin has been misbehaving a little bit recently) and a lovely, luxuriously moisturising one just for a treat. I have been hearing whispers about Ren's masks for a while now, and one of you recommended I try the Invisible Pores Detox Mask, but while having a browse on their website, the Glycolactic Radiance Mask also caught my eye. So there you go, call me greedy but I want them both!

I just would like to say in advance that I don't think I'll be doing a 'Week in Pictures' post this Sunday, as it takes a bit of work to edit and put the photographs together, and obviously with my current internet woes this would prove quite difficult. Instead, I'll be posting a couple of other things I had already prepared for other days, and then maybe next week when I have got things sorted I will be able to get the missing post up. You will still be hearing from me on a daily basis though, as luckily I have been very organised this week and written lots of posts in advance, so I will be able to just publish those from my phone.

Hope you've had a great week and are enjoying a weekend of relaxation and release.
Have you been watching the Olympics?

Weekend Wishlist

Catseye Sunglasses, £16, Topshop
Spiked Gilet, £75, Topshop
Head Piece, £7, River Island
Lace and Floral Print Top, £18, River Island
Ikat Print Dress, £36, Topshop
Studded Millicent Boots, £40, Topshop
Rabbit-print Satchel, £45, Accessorize
Lampshade Print Peplum Top, £18, River Island
Print Shirt, £37, Miss Selfridge

Continuing along with the theme of prints and studs, the high street once again has some fabulous key pieces in their 'New in' sections this week. If I had actually bought all of the things I have featured over the past few weeks, then my wardrobe (or closet, for some of you) would be full to bursting with gorgeous printed chiffon shirts and, of course, studded bits and bobs. Miss Selfridge have been doing some great long-sleeved shirts with more sophisticated prints, which will take you right through into A/W, whereas River Island has been awash with pretty summer florals on short-sleeved pieces, which are pretty perfect for wearing now that the sun has been making the odd appearance.
I have got millions of pairs of sunglasses already, but I am horrific at looking after them and the majority of them are scratched or bent! I'm the sort of person who likes to have a choice when it comes to eye-wear, and I enjoy mixing and matching different pairs with whatever I happen to be wearing on any given day. The cat-eye shape is a particular favourite of mine, and I really like Topshop sunglasses - I feel that they are actually doing something to protect my eyes when I wear them, whereas ones I have bought from some other high street shops might just as well be clear, as I still have to squint when I step outside.
I'm still loving the animal print trend (as in, prints featuring actual little animals), and this rabbit print bag from Accessorize looks spacious enough to hold my folders as well as my makeup and other essentials when I go back to work next week. And as for the headpiece, well, isn't it just the perfect boho-style finishing touch to any Summer outfit?

I absolutely loved watching the Olympics opening ceremony on TV last night, and thought that the organisers had done an amazing job. It was really nice to see it all go off without a hitch in spite of the negativity that has been surrounding the event in recent weeks. The amount of uncomplimentary news stories that have been splashed across the papers has been bordering on ridiculous (although some of them were certainly in need of being written), and I am really glad to see that people are finally getting behind the games and entering into the spirit of things. I must admit though, I was surprised to see how bored the royals looked at the ceremony! The Queen, who appeared to have come dressed as a flamingo, bless her, could barely raise a smile, and Wills looked completely disinterested when the British team came out!
I'm going to be honest here - I wasn't all that bothered about the Olympics myself until I watched the event last night, but now I am quite looking forward to it all, and am going to make an effort to watch some of our athletes in action!
Did you watch the ceremony? What did you think? And are you excited about the Olympics?

3. Blue Scarf Print Shirt, £28, River Island
4. Scarf Print Dress, £36, Topshop

6. Blue Maxi Skirt, £37, Miss Selfridge
7. Petite Embroidered Shorts, £35, Topshop
8. Snake Trim Satchel, £34, Topshop

I'm sure it hasn't gone unnoticed thatI'm usually more of a Weekend Wishlist kind of girl, nor that my little blog has been somewhat desserted over the past couple of days, and that is because I have been laid up in bed with a pretty horrific tummy bug. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say that it wasn't pleasant, and has left me feeling rather weak and the worse for wear. Today, I have finally managed to nibble upon a few salad leaves, but I am certainly not back on top form. However, I've been feeling awful about missing the last few days of posting, and though I'm sure that you've all got lots of other lovely blogs to read and didn't really mind (or realise!?), it just didn't feel right, and I found myself missing blogland and all you lovelies, so now that I have gathered up enough strength in my fingers to finally type (so dramatic!), I will be posting all that I didn't over the weekend, as well as, obviously, some of the stuff I had planned for this week.
Just as I had gone a little bit stud crazy in my previous two Wishlists, this time around I seem to have gone a little bit print mad. I have always been a huge fan of prints, particularly the bright summer offerings that are usually available, but scouring this week's 'New in' sections on all my favourite websites, I was a little bit bowled over by all the gorgeous pieces available. If my bank account wasn't so barren, I'd definitely be investing in a few of these, and a few nice basics to mix and match them with. As you may know, I am notoriously bad at stocking up on basics, as I always get blown away by all the more eye-catching pieces and then have nothing to wear them with!
I'm not sure what my favourite is this week. It's between the River Island shirt, the dress and the Topshop shorts, as I think they are all such statement pieces.

Hope everyone had a delightful weekend!

As you can see, I most definitely haven't got bored of studs since last week, and yet again, they are well and truly dominating my Wishlist! These have turned out to be a huge trend this summer and are set to continue into the Autumn, which frankly, is fine by me. They can continue forever if they want.
I've also gone a bit blush-mad this week, with Nars Deep Throat, Stila Convertible Colour and Rose De Rose by Terry all making an appearance. The Stila one is actually designed for both cheeks and lips, while Rose De Rose is a liquid blush which has a buildable satin finish. It's sheer, and can be used all over the face in spite of the colour it looks in the bottle. Actually, the one I want is called Amber Rose, which is a peachy-bronze nude, but I could only get an image of this pink shade, which is called Fresh Rose.
Yet again, Miss Selfridge have got some gorgeous printed blouses in and I was pleased to see that they had my favourite one in Petite.

I haven't been up to much this weekend so far. My other half's family might be coming for lunch tomorrow, and we really want to have a barbecue in the garden, but really, I can't see the weather cooperating! My spending ban has gone really well this week and I haven't bought anything I don't need, but I am worried that the money I have been squirreling away instead of going shopping is now going to have to be spent on fixing the car! I really hope not. Will have to wait and see what happens on Monday when we take it to be looked at.

Dear Topshop
Just stop it, will you? Everything I want this week is from your New In section. And I want everything from your New In section this week!
STOP with all the gorgeous stud detailing and beautiful collar necklaces. I already have far too many of your embellished denim shorts on my wishlist, and now this. And as for those gorgeous bags, will you just look what you have done to me? Not one, but TWO on my list. Make it stop, I beg of you.

Hello everyone, I hope you've had a lovely weekend!
In case you haven't guessed, yes, everything on this week's Wishlist is, indeed, from Topshop! I don't know what it is with them at the moment, they seem to go through stages where there is not much I would buy (since they boosted their prices quite substantially!) and others where I literally do want everything. Now is definitely the latter. I have always loved Topshop, but they've got so expensive lately, so I try to avoid shopping there for the most part, though I used to get most of my wardrobe from there in the past! I know I've mentioned my love of all things studded on here before, and when I clicked on the 'New In' butoon this week, I was greeted with an abundance of absolute must-have studded pieces that just had to be on this list!
I really want to wear the grey jumper with the studded shorts and black studded bag, though I think it might be stud overkill! The detailing on the sweater is quite subtle though, so I reckon I could get away with it, and maybe throw on the skull scarf for the perfect relaxed weekend look.
I'm sorry Mr. Credit Card, but some of these bits are coming home with me. Deal with it.
