Desire of the Day #4: Urban Decay Naked Skin

Could it have been anything else today!? Let me answer that - definitely not.
Urban Decay's Naked Skin launched today, and really excited to give this a go, despite being rather snowed under with all the various foundations I've been buying recently to try out.
Naked Skin is a 'weightless ultra definition makeup', claiming to blur imperfections for a flawless glow.
Oil free, paraben free and fragrance free, it's supposed to feel as though you aren't wearing anything at all on your skin (hence the name!), which instantly makes me think of Estee Lauder's Invisible Makeup, of which I'm a big fan.
The product comes in a whopping eighteen shades, and is divided into two 'sets' - those which end in .0 and are designed for warm skin tones (yellow/olive undertones) and the .5s, catering for cooler (rosy/neutral skin tones). What's more is that it also has anti-aging properties, and is buildable with a demi-matte finish.
I must admit, I'm usually more of a fan of a dewy finish, and I have been getting a little bit bored with foundations, more recently favouring tinted moisturisers and deciding on which BB creams to try, but being a product with such cult potential, it'd be rude not to make room and give this one a little try.

Now available on Urban Decay's website with free shipping - I'd be quick if I were you, as these are sure to sell out like hot cakes.

Desire of the Day #3

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35

I know, I know - BB creams are sooo two months ago. But, unbelievably,  I haven't actually tried one yet. When they first came out, I was very close to buying Garnier's offering, but after seeing some bad reviews, I decided against it, and since then, I have become a little bit obsessed with experimenting with different foundations and tinted moisturisers, so much so that I haven't got round to giving BB creams a look in. I have been loving the tinted moisturisers, and didn't feel that I needed to try any of them. Until recently, I hadn't really read any good reviews of any of them, so I was sort of of the mind-set that it was one of those things where it was a lot of Hype about nothing.
However, recently, I have found myself eye-ing up the Dr. Jaart + range, as I have heard nothing but wonderful things. But now that Smashbox's Camera Ready BB Cream has come to my attention, I think I am going to go for this one instead. For a start, it's SPF35, which, let's face it, is a huge helping hand in summer (well, it would be, if the sun ever showed it's face!), as I hate having to re-apply suntan lotion repeatedly, and am not usually one to go completely bare-faced. I just can't do it - I feel naked! But equally, I am more of a light to medium coverage kind of girl, and in summer I want something really weightless, that won'tweigh down my skin or clog my pores. I have tried a few samples from Smashbox before and really enjoyed them, so I shall let you know when I have got my paws on this one, and what I think!

Hope everyone is having a good week - almost the weekend!

Have you tried any BB Creams?
What did you think of them?

Monday Morning Mishap!

Hello, hope everyone is having a splendid Monday. Personally, I am not, but before you click the 'x' in the corner of the page, thinking I am going to have a right old moany groany one on you, I'm not, but I just wanted to share this morning's brief ordeal with those of you who would truly understand - beauty bloggers, of course!

So, I was getting ready for work, putting my makeup on, as you do. And then I reached for my blusher brush, and what happened?? Yeah, that's right, I accidentally knocked my brand new Mac Studio Fix onto the tiled floor, where it smashed into a zillion pieces, and, just to add insult to injury, splashed ALL OVER the brand new jeans I was wearing. Argh!!

So now, I have no foundation (not happy about having to fork out for a new one!) and ruined jeans (couldn't get the stains out....any ideas?)

Oh, hello Monday!

But, on the upside, this DOES appear to give me an excuse to splash out on some Mac Matchmaster - anyone tried it?

My face will be happy. My bank balance will not.
