Confessions of a Beauty Blogger Tag

1. How many hours a week do you spend writing/editing posts?

It really varies, depending what I'm posting that week. Sometimes I'll reel of a post in a matter of minutes if the mood takes me, but if I'm writing a thorough review or a post that requires some research then I'll put a fair bit of time and effort into it.

2. Are you a spender or a saver?

I seem to have spent my life alternating between the two. As a child I was a sensible saver, and as a teen and when I first hit my twenties I spent every last bit. For the past few years though, I've been quite a good girl and saved up again, but saying that, I've definitely let things slip in the last year or so (since I started blogging, funnily enough). I'm now trying to get back to putting my pennies away carefully, as we are going to be needing them for our move in the summer.

3. When is it easiest for you to blog?

I tend to get more done at the weekends. I much prefer putting posts together when I've got some time to myself, as having the other half around means getting distracted is inevitable. I tend to take most of my pictures on Fridays, and then I'll edit them all and upload them to blank posts ready for me to write them later in the week,

4. What's your worst makeup/hair habit?

Until fairly recently I was awful for brushing my hair too vigorously when wet, and not washing my makeup brushes often enough. However, I've now rectified both of those, so I'd probably say not using base and top coats when I paint my nails (literally going to change that this weekend too though) and bombarding my skin with too many different products, as I can't resist trying out new skincare!

5. What's the one quote that you wish the world could live by?

Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

6. How long do you spend getting ready every day?

It depends if I'm washing my hair or not - about half an hour if I'm not (although that includes a quick shower), and about an hour and a half if I am (including drying and straightening my hair). If Im not going anywhere though, I tend to let my hair dry naturally, as it's gota natural wave and is a good chance to avoid heat damage.

7. What's your favourite video on Youtube?

Well these two are pretty hilarious:

But mainly, I really like watching other beauty and fashion bloggers' channels.

8.  Which blogger of whom you are a reader do you think deserves more subscribers than they 
have?
Oh, there are too many to mention, but someone who definitely deserves more followers is WY, who runs Raves 'nd Ramblings. She is such a lovely lady, and really knows her stuff, particularly when it comes to skincare. If you haven't already, do go over and have a read of her blog. 9.  Which one thing are you most excited about in the upcoming year?
MOVING HOME!!! Excited is an understatement.

10. What's your most awkward blogging moment?
I can't think of any, but uploading my first Youtube video was definitely a bit of a cringefest! Thankfully I got over that, and now really enjoy it, although the worry is still there as you never know who might be watching!

11. Are you wearing jeans, trousers, pyjamas or a skirt right now?
I'm wearing jeans, as I'm about to go to work and the dress-code is pretty casual but we have to be covered up, and tights in this heat are actually worse than jeans!

12. What are you most proud of in your life right now?
Probably, to be honest, my little blog! I'm also proud of how far my husband and I have come together and what we have achieved.

1. What would you most like to change about yourself?

I think we'd all like to have a little bit more confidence in ourselves, and I'm no different. I like to think that I'm ok on the whole, but sometimes I find myself feeling really awkward or shy in certain situations and it drives me mad! It's like I have a little internal argument with myself, because the other side of me knows there is nothing to be feeling that way about.

2. What is your theme song?

I literally have no idea. I can't think of anything! I suppose life has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far, so I don't know that one particular song can really cover it.

3. One part of your life (a memory, action etc.) that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain:

Ooh, I don't know. Perhaps I have already had it surgically removed and that's why I can't think of it? Maybe Eternal Sunshine is real.

I actually believe that everything in life is character building, and metaphorically speaking, what doesn't kill you does make you stronger. That's not to say I haven't had my fair share of cringey moments though.

4. What generation do you wish you had been a part of?

1960s London or 1940s Paris.

5. What was your favourite childhood toy?

A baby doll called Laura and a massive teddy bear called - aptly - Biggie.

6. What is your favourite house-cleaning chore?

Seriously - is that a joke? I'm not going to pretend I like cleaning the house. I don't, I hate it. I do enjoy cooking though.

7. Do you use Twitter?

Why yes, yes I do.

8. Any goals?

Ohhhh, yes. Many. But things are finally starting to happen for me now and I don't want to jinx them - I'll be sure to keep you posted and let you know as and when they come to fruition though!

9. Do you really drink Margaritas all the time?

Errr.....can't say I do, no. Not really sure how or why this question came about, or what it's in relation to. But either way, I'm not a Tequila person.

10. What's the ugliest car you've ever driven and were embarrassed to be seen in?

I can't say I've ever driven a particularly ugly car, although I don't think I would feel embarrassed even if I had.

So, here are my eleven facts:

1) I am currently holed up in bed with a nasty cold :-(

2) I have recently got really into being more experimental with doing my nails and am really enjoying it!

3) My current favourite nail polishes are Essie Mint Candy Apple, Essie Sure Shot and Topshop Hidden Treasure.

4) I own quite a lot of Brazilian beauty products!

5) A lot of you may know this, but my favourite lipstick shade is coral!

6) At the moment, I am working on setting up my own online store! Excited.

7) I want to visit so many countries! Top of my list at the moment is are Belize and Malaysia.

8) Two of my best friends have just had babies, and I'm freaking out about everyone growing up so quickly! Haha.

9) Speaking of babies, I hate it when all people post about on FB is how long their child has slept for and how many ounces of milk they have had...it's not that I'm mean, it's just that some people really congest my newsfeed so that it's all I ever see!

10) I have a dog and a cat. They are best friends, and curl up together to sleep!

11) I am so glad I discovered blogging and blogs, and I love settling down to read my Bloglovin' feed with a cuppa on a rainy day!

1) If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If health wasn't an issue, then I'd definitely go for Chinese! If I have to be specific, then crispy duck pancakes.

2) Have you got any tattoos? If not, would you like one?

No and no. I did used to want one when I was younger, but now I am so glad that I didn't get one. I know I would get bored with it too quickly if I had one!

3) What is your one staple clothing item?

Ooh, this is a toughie. I would probably say a pair of high-waisted shorts, but don't ask me which one!

4) Do you have any bad habits?

Who doesn't? I tend to make a bit of a mess when deciding what to wear in the mornings! But I do tidy it up later. I'm also a bit careless with my belongings, which I hate because I don't even realise I'm doing it!

5) If you were to be reincarnated into an animal what would you be, and why?

Ahhh, this is hard! I think a cat, because I could still live in a nice cosy house, and I wouldn't have to kill anything to eat it. I know cats do kill things anyway...but I wouldn't.

6) Do you think money is happiness?

In the past, I would have said 'absolutely not',  but certain situations have made me realise that unfortunately, whether we like it or not, money is important, to some extent. Lack of it can keep you apart from those you love, for example. But I don't believe that winning the lottery would make you happy if you had no one to share it with, no.

7) Are you OCD about anything?

I'm a little bit obsessed with checking Ebay!

8) Have you ever been abroad?

Yes, many times, and I have also lived in Brazil.

9) Do you speak any foreign languages?

Yes I do. I am fluent in Brazilian Portuguese and I also speak a little bit of Spanish and French.

10) What is your favourite colour of nail polish?

Hmm, I have already answered this in my 'eleven facts', so let me tell you something else about nail polish...I'm really enjoying trying out crackle polishes at the moment.

11) If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be and why?

I would be happy just to be myself, but with a teleport!
