Estee Lauder Violet Underground Collection (Autumn/Winter 2012)

Estee Lauder's limited edition collection, Violet Underground, is to be released in August.
Based around a colour palette of deep violet and vibrant fuschia, everything in it screams Glam Rock.

The collection will feature two mini-collections of nail polishes called Metal Mania and Beyond Black, each of them boasting five opulent new shades.
There will also be a Quick Thick Eyeliner to create bold dramatic eyes (basically a chubby liquid eyeliner pen), and a gorgeous five-colour eyeshadow palette, as well as:
- Sumptuous Extreme Mascara in Sumptuous Black (permanent)
- Pure Colour Velvet Lipstick in Black Cassis and Violet Crush (both matte)
- Pure Colour Gloss in Chaotic Currant and Rebellious Violet.

Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on the Velvet Underground Palette. I'm not usually one for such bright pinks on my eyes, but the richness and sumptuousness of these shades has me aching to try a bold, dramatic eye.
I am equally a little scared at the idea of putting Violet Crush on my lips, as it really is quite a vibrant violet, but at the same time I am really looking forward to a change in that department, after the rainbow of pinks and corals I have been favouring for the past year.
The deep berry nail polish in the first promo picture is called Black Iris, and is sure to be a hit during the Winter months, particularly paired with the Velvet Lipstick in Black Cassis. Both of them make for a mysterious and intriguing look and are perfect for an elegant night out.

What's on your wishlist from this collection?
Do you think you can pull off Violet Crush?

xx

    1. Yeah, I had never really bought anything from EL until I got a sample of the Invisible Makeup free in a magazine and absolutely loved it. I bought myself some, and since then have been taking a bit more notice of what's available. I'm glad I did, as I am really liking what I've seen so far. I've also heard so much about the Double Wear foundation!
